RALEIGH CHIMNEY SWEEP +
DRYER VENT CLEANING
At Smoke Alert, we are very proud of the fact that fire safety has been our top priority since the company was established in 2010. Our mission is to save lives by providing superior service at reasonable prices. While our main services are chimney sweeping and dryer vent cleaning, we also offer a free home fire safety check with every service appointment. The fire safety check includes our technicians, who are also firefighters, checking the smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and fire extinguishers in your home. If anything is found to be defective or not present, we offer installation of new alarms or extinguishers for about the same amount you would pay to purchase them at a store.
Many companies advertise that they do chimney sweeping, but they are not properly certified or insured to do the work. These companies will advertise that they can fully inspect and sweep masonry chimneys. To carry the required amount of insurance for chimney work requires far more than a standard liability policy – in fact, chimney policies can cost upwards of $8,000 even for a small policy that does not include workers’ comp. Discount companies will show up with a standard shop vac ($100.00) instead of a professional chimney vacuum ($4,000.00). They run a high risk of getting hazardous soot or dust in your home using a system without a HEPA filter that is not specifically designed for chimneys or dryer vents. These companies also use inexpensive dryer vent brushes from a hardware store that are likely to get stuck or damage the dryer vent. In order to make up for the other companies’ reduced price you can expect to be told scary things about your chimney that will require a lot of costly and sometimes unnecessary work to repair. Smoke Alert will visit homes after companies like this all the time to clean up messes and complete the job correctly. I implore you to look at reviews online so you can compare the caliber of work we offer versus work done by a cut rate company or handyman. All of our work is done in accordance with current standards and the work will meet or exceed code.
Our CDET certified dryer exhaust technicians use a professional rotary brush system and 400 CFM industrial HEPA vacuum.
Our CSIA certified sweeps use a power sweep system which is much more powerful than traditional sweeping along with an industrial HEPA vacuum so there is ZERO MESS.
