Product was shipped in a timely manner, came complete as advertised, and was quickly set up. Alarm easily paired with my hub and test functionality triggered the alerts I created. Hopefully it never gets truly field tested, but everything went through SmokeAlert as well as it could have.

The setup of this smoke alarm with HomeSeer 3 was easy. I have written my own application that works with HomeSeer and an associated application on Android. The device provides a different status code for smoke versus CO. So, one can trigger separate events based on the actual alarm code. The battery status is updated as needed and a heart beat message is sent about once per hour, so my application monitors the heart beat and I will be notified if communications are lost. A great alarm for Z-Wave! Wish it was available in hard-wired version as well.

Picked these up to work with my SmartThings hub. Pairing was quick and painless. My only complaint was one of the detectors appeared to be used. The battery tray was fully inserted (meaning it was active when I recieved it) and battery life was already at 82%. It appears to work and test successfully so hopefully it works in a real event.

I bought a few First Alert ZCOMBO-G alarms to use with my Abode security system. I replaced my existing alarms with these, and it couldn’t have been easier. Syncing with the Abode system took a few seconds and now I can get alerts when smoke or carbon monoxide are detected while I’m away from home.

I was looking for a z-wave compatible smoke alarm to integrate with my Smartthings setup. While I would’ve preferred a hard wired version (no one makes on that I know of at the time of this review), the battery version is working as I want it to. Now if it goes off, I can have it trigger lights or other alerts if I am not home.
Smoke Alert had lower prices than the big online company and had it in stock. Living in Hawaii, I was expecting shipping to take a while, but the detector showed up very quickly. I definitely recommend buying from smokealert and will be coming back myself to buy another z-wave detector in the near future.
